Women: hood
First Edition

Virtual reception
Women: hood explores complex experiences of femininity through interviews and responsive artworks. Based in Iowa City, Iowa, USA, the collective sought and recorded interviews with 10 women living in the state of Iowa and beyond. Artists: Satomi Kawai, Allison Heady, Dani Sigler, Vero Rose Smith.
The word women: hood is centered in bold white text on a black background. Surrounding the text are small, colorful artworks depicting various portraits, patterns, and abstract designs, arranged in a grid-like layout above and below the letters.

Our guest speaker at the reception: Dr. Asha Bhandary

"Womanhood vs Femininity/ Femininity vs Masculinity" is based on Dr. Asha Bhandary's first publication, "Freedom to Care."
