Artist Statement
Watching the interviews, I was struck again and again by the idea that things happen in our lives that we don’t have much say in, but then we do get to choose how we handle them, and what we do with them moving forward, and that’s how we come to understand — what’s important; who we are; how to live. It made me think of watersheds, and orchestras, and how they are also things coming together, and it felt beautiful to consider the possibilities of transforming unpromising materials, in relationship to each other, into something resonant and easeful.
